The project is implemented by the Department of Educational Services of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, in collaboration with CoopCulture, which has published a tender and selected two deaf museum operators to be included in the staff involved in the Galleria Nazionale’s educational activities.

The Galleria Nazionale, which has long been attentive to the issues of accessibility for all, thanks to the document signed with the Ente Nazionale Sordi and CoopCulture, thus promotes accessibility for deaf people, giving value to the role of deaf professionals as mediators of the own community. This proposal is part of the national MAPS project. Accessible Museums for Deaf People aimed at improving accessibility to cultural heritage for deaf people, both Italian and foreign.

The guided tours service for deaf people with signs, by CoopCulture, is available in LIS – Italian Language of Signs and in IS – International Sign. Reservation is mandatory.
