The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art holds the most complete collection dedicated to Italian and foreign art from the 19th century to the present. Since 2016, around 200 requests for works on loan from museums and institutions from all over the world are accepted each year.

Loan requests are evaluated by a commission that involves the curatorial staff in collaboration with the team of restorers and museum service managers. This commission also deals with the coordination of loan operations.
